Some of ETL's Initiatives
Asogan and Samantha have embarked on the Trek4Mandela challenge were they summited Mount Kilimanjaro on Mandela Day (18 July 2016)
The Trek4Mandela is in association with Caring4Girls which is an initiative aimed at supplying underprivileged girls with sanitary pads.
"We are embarking on a fund raising drive in support of Caring4Girls and greatly request any donations to help change the lives of these needy girls."
1 months’ supply of sanitary pads cost R30 (R360 is needed to support a girl for a year)
The more you support, the greater our outreach will be.

TREK4MANDELA was established in 2012 when Richard Mabaso of Imbumba Foundation and founder and visionary of Caring4Girls and TREK4MANDELA overheard a fearful conversation between his mother and his niece on menstrual challenges. This got him to take action and inspire change through establishing the TREK4MANDELA expedition to create awareness on the plight of underprivileged girls in rural and poor schools during their menstrual cycles. The ethos of Mandela Day is “Take Action Inspire Change”. Visit Website
Caring4Girls is a sanitary towels distribution programme to keep young girls in school during their monthly cycles. The programmes focuses on creating awareness on puberty and adolescent and in the process demystify all menstrual related myths.
Research has revealed that most poor girls may miss up to 50 days of schooling annually due to the lack of access to adequate sanitary protection. It is against these shocking statistics that Imbumba Foundation established Caring4Girls. Visit Website
This is a typical example of ETL’s approach to meaningfully plough back to the communities we work in. It is also envisioned that through our commitment to education, entrepreneurs such as those that have emanated from the ETL breeding ground will ultimately contribute economically to society as a whole. Our investments in health focus on institutions dealing with the treatment for diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, which are critical economic and public health challenges in many parts of the world.
